Norrisville Library & Activity Center Norrisville, PA
The concept of this 18,768 SF building was to provide the local residents with a facility for many specific uses, including: library, small functions, town meetings and physical activities ranging from youth basketball to volleyball and aerobic exercise. To achieve this goal, we constructed a 7,800 SF pre-engineered steel gym building with six motorized fold up basketball backstops, sound attenuation, masonry walls, pull out folding bleachers and a rubber sports floor with a full court volleyball layout. At the front of the site, construction included a wood framed, masonry and vinyl siding veneered 5,500 SF library, work rooms, restrooms, lunchroom and office facility. The two buildings were joined together by a similar 4,350 SF wood frame building that houses offices for the parks and recreation director, building and maintenance supervisor along with a storage area, public toilets and a community activity center designed for lectures, town meetings and visual presentations with minimal kitchen facilities. The finished project is a functional, multi-use building which both the residents of Norrisville and Harford County will enjoy for many years to come.
